José Mourinho has once again received the boot from his employers with the recent ones Tottenham parting ways with the Portuguese in a very controversial 24hrs in football worldwide.
The Portuguese took over from Mauricio Pochettino who is currently the PSG boss. Having taken the London club to the UCL final, José was meant to take them to next step. After embarrassingly crushing out of the Europa League, Spurs’ season was leaving so much to desire. 1st half of the season José’s side was able to grind results and at some point, were top of the table.
Recent results haven’t helped José and his men as Spurs currently sit 5 points outside of the top 4 positions.
The timing of the sacking can be questioned with Spurs set to play the Cityzens from Manchester in just under 5 days in the Carabao Cup Final. A lot of reaction to José’s sacking has centred on them as most football fans believe if City could be stopped it would’ve been José and his style. José has also won the trophy in both his spells with Chelsea and Manchester United. Without Harry Kane possibly for the final what better man was to take Spurs to Wembley this coming weekend.
The big question however is what now for José? International Football? Retirement? Technical Director role?
