Motorsport<\/strong>
F1 was back in Austria this past weekend for the Styrian GP. Hamilton and Bottas, the two Mercedes Drivers who already top the drivers\u2019 standings lead the driver ratings at the Styrian GP. Hamilton dominated Sunday’s race from start to finish for his 85th career win – just six away from Michael Schumacher’s record. The grand prix also had controversy as some drivers continue to stand during the #BlackLivesMatter kneeling gesture. Lewis Hamilton continues to lead both on the track and off it, the Brit has been very vocal with respect to equality. There are huge concerns over the image F1 drivers are sending by not kneeling down together. F1 pundit Jason Button had this to say “I think as an image, yes, I agree it doesn’t look so good with some standing and some kneeling. But the important thing for me is when it comes to what they have to say about ending racism, they all agree.”

Valtteri Bottas – Qualified 4th, Finished 2nd

Italian Serie A<\/strong>
Juventus and Lazio drop points again as they suffer a draw and a loss respectively. Juventus were held to a 2-2 draw by Atalanta and Lazio lost at home to Sassuolo 2-1. The big match of the weekend saw Napoli host AC Milan and the game ended in a stalemate. Roma won 3-0 away at Brescia and they remain in the Europa League Spot with Napoli. Inter Milan vs Torino rounds off this gameweek. Leece and Genoa both picked up points as they continue to fight the drop with 6 games remaining.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cricket<\/strong>
Test Cricket returned to our screens and England were beaten by West Indies in first Test as Jermaine Blackwood scores 95. The 3-match series also saw the two teams pay tribute to the National Health Service workers and support towards the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Both teams took the knee before the start of the game. West Indies moved 1-0 up in the three-match series and ensured Stokes suffered defeat in his first match as England captain, having deputised for regular skipper Joe Root. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

English Premier League<\/strong>
Liverpool were denied a continuation of their remarkable run at Anfield when they were held to a 1 all draw by Burnley. City thumbed Brighton 5 nil, Raheem Sterling with a hattrick. In the battle for top 4 Chelsea lost to Sheffield and Leicester also suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to relegation threatened Bournemouth. Norwich finally got the final blow from West Ham and were relegated from the Premier League. Aston Villa won an important game against Crystal Palace as they are running out of time to save their Premier League Status. The game of the week was at the new Tottenham Stadium, the North London Derby which saw Jos\u00e9 Mourinho’s Spurs beat Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal. Both managers were meeting in a North London Derby for the first time.
The game week ends with a rejuvenated Southampton visiting Manchester United who could leapfrog to 3rd place if they can win tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South African Premier Soccer League<\/strong>
The PSL confirmed Gauteng as bio-safe bubble, restart date yet to be determined. PSL Chairperson Ivan Khoza confirmed that to complete the remaining fixtures, including Nedbank Cup matches would require a period of six weeks while clarifying that no official date was proposed by the league. The 2019\/20 was looking as a promising campaign for Kaizer Chiefs fans who are also celebrating 50 years of existence. The Gauteng based outfit was leading the pack for majority of the season before the suspension of games. A lot of criticism has been aimed at the SAFA boss amid the spike in Covid-19 cases in the country.
