Gauteng department of health reported on Sunday, that\nthe high volume of patients at the academic hospital, comes from patients whom\nare being transferred from other neighboring hospitals within the province and\nalso from other provinces during this current second wave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Doctors have stated that in addition to the high volume of patients who get admitted to the hospital, an alleged lack of resuscitation equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is also a major challenge, thus contributing significantly to the problem at hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of the 12th January , the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases identified in South Africa is 1 259 748 with 13 105 new cases identified in the last 24 hours.
