The much anticipated league, launched in August\n2019, has had a few shortcomings in its first season and one of the issues that\nstill requires attention is sponsorship. One of the leading ways to push a\nproduct is through women&#8217;s sport which is growing rapidly nationally and\nglobally. Some of the games were broadcasted live through SABC which served as\na great platform to attract potential sponsors as the league grew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2019\/2020 Championship title was clinched by Mamelodi\nSundowns Ladies Team with a perfect record of 21 wins from their 21 league\ngames played. At the inaugural SAFA National Women\u2019s League awards ceremony that\ntook place at the SAFA house in December 2020 the champions were awarded\nR500&nbsp;000, runners-up TUT Ladies received R250&nbsp;000, third place\nBloemfontein Celtics got R150&nbsp;000 and First Touch Academy who placed\nfourth received R100&nbsp;000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Newly promoted teams Gauteng\u2019s JVW FC and Limpopo\u2019s Ma-Indies\nsecured promotion from the Sasol League after reaching the finals of the\nNational Playoffs where JVW beat Ma-Indies 2-0. They will make their SNWL debut\nagainst each other, an interesting match up to kick off the season.
