Honesty, hard work,\nhumility, ethics and respect for the people are some of the core attributes\nthat they should evince<strong>\u201d-<\/strong><\/em><strong> ANC Strategy and Tactics of 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nANC must as a leader of the society renew and morally regenerate to inspire\nhope to the people of South Africa.&nbsp; The\nANC as a leader of the society resolved at its 54<sup>th<\/sup> National\nConference to lead the renewal and the moral regeneration of the community. The\nreality is that, the ANC must be the mirror of the society it envisages, it is\nonly renewed and morally regenerated ANC that could lead the societal renewal\nand its moral regeneration program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An ancient philosopher and\na thinker, Plato has in his writings taught us that the \u201cphilosopher kings\u201d\nmeaning leaders are deployed into positions of responsibility to set up systems\nof government that serve the \u201ccity\u201d society, but as they do so, they are\nsomehow guided by their different kinds of personal desires; the desire for\nmaterial benefits, honour and good reputation, and the desire for knowledge and\ntruth. Plato believes that, the \u201cphilosopher kings\u201d (leaders) might take\nadvantage of the \u201ccity\u201d society to attain and satisfy their desires. In his\nargument, to avoid corruption, all members of the society must be training and\nsocialized through education. In my view, corruption has always been a societal\nproblem and there must be a strong system of government that genuinely fight\ncorruption and maleficence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of its efforts to\nenhance its integrity and fight against corruption, the ANC has in the 54<sup>th<\/sup>\nNational Conference deliberated and amongst others resolved that provincial and\nNational Executive Committees should \u201c<em>Demand\nthat every cadre accused of, or reported to be involved in, corrupt practices\naccounts to the Integrity Committee immediately or face DC process.
